Stites & Harbison Grows Its Atlanta Office with the Addition of Owen Gleaton Attorneys

ATLANTA—Stites & Harbison, PLLC announces that all seven attorneys from Owen, Gleaton, Egan, Jones & Sweeney, LLP have joined Stites & Harbison’s Atlanta office. M. Michael Egan joins the firm as Senior Member (Senior Partner). Derrick L. Bingham, Thomas J. Mihill, Theodore E.G. Pound and Kathleen W. Simcoe join Stites & Harbison as Members (Partners). R. Ann Grier joins the firm as Counsel and Julie R. Comer joins as Attorney. Three additional staff members from Owen Gleaton also joined Stites & Harbison.

M. Michael Egan – Construction Service Group
Egan’s practice involves counseling owners, architects, sureties, construction product manufacturers and builders on matters including design, finance, building and fidelity and surety disputes. He is an approved arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association’s Construction Industry Panel of Arbitrators and a member of the American Bar Association's Fidelity and Surety Committee on the Construction Industry.
Derrick L. Bingham – Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group
Bingham’s practice includes defending governmental entities and officials, individuals and businesses against a variety of claims including violation of civil rights, automobile accidents, premises liability, insurance disputes and employment matters in state and federal courts. His appellate practice includes advising clients of appellate options, orchestrating appeals from beginning to end, drafting amicus briefs and defending cases in appellate courts.
Thomas J. Mihill (TJ) – Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group
Mihill’s practice focuses on intellectual property, business law and litigation, construction, fiduciary law and estate and probate matters. He is experienced in arbitration, mediation and negotiation as well as traditional litigation. Mihill represents individuals and corporations in the registration of copyrights and trademarks, as well as handling trademark and copyright infringement claims, trade secret violations and cybersquatting actions. He also represents clients in litigation, mediation and arbitration at the state and federal level, both throughout Georgia and nationwide.
Theodore E.G. Pound (Ted) – Torts & Insurance Practice Service Group
Pound’s practice focuses on the defense of healthcare providers in professional liability litigation in state and federal courts across Georgia. He has managed hundreds of medical malpractice lawsuits to a successful resolution and has tried more than 50 cases to a jury verdict on behalf of emergency physicians, hospitalists, radiologists, psychiatrists, OBGYNs, primary care physicians, surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, managed care organizations, behavioral health facilities, national practice groups, and their insurers.
R. Ann Grier – Trusts & Estate Planning Group
Grier’s practice brings many years of experience representing and advising clients in a variety of personal and business matters, including estate planning, litigation, contract negotiations, employment law and alternative dispute resolution. She has conducted bench and jury trials in state and federal courts involving probate and estate disputes, commercial contract disputes, employment discrimination, medical malpractice and product liability cases.
Julie R. Comer – Intellectual Property & Technology Service Group
Comer’s practice focuses on business law and litigation, intellectual property, product liability, professional liability, construction, insurance defense and estate and probate matters. She represents individuals and businesses in a wide variety of litigation issues including shareholder and complex business disputes, employment matters, construction disputes, trademark and copyright infringement and various breach of contract, tort and fraud actions. She also advises corporate leaders on corporate governance, compliance and strategic planning.
